A Commitment to Diversity and Growth: Direct Affinity CX Joins the Automotive 30% Club

Automotive 30% Club

At Direct Affinity CX, we pride ourselves on being a forward-thinking company that continuously seeks to evolve, not just in our business practices but in how we build and nurture our team. This commitment to progress and inclusivity is why I am proud to announce our new membership of the Automotive 30% Club, an initiative aimed at achieving a better gender balance within the automotive industry. Founded by Julia Muir, the club’s mission is to see at least 30% of key leadership positions within member organisations filled by women by 2030.

Embracing diverse perspectives

Joining this initiative wasn’t a decision made lightly; it reflects a deeply held belief that the automotive industry can only truly thrive when it embraces diverse perspectives. I’ve been fortunate to see how vital women’s contributions are to our business. My wife, Andrea, and our daughter, Lottie, both board directors at Direct Affinity CX, have been instrumental in shaping our vision and strategy from the very beginning.

Andrea’s insights and leadership have helped us navigate challenges and seize opportunities that have propelled our growth, while Lottie’s role in the company has evolved over the years, from gaining firsthand experience in various departments to now overseeing complex projects and operational processes. Lottie will also be stepping up as the 30 by 30 strategy leader within Direct Affinity CX, spearheading our efforts to align with the Automotive 30% Club’s mission.

For me, this is personal. It’s not just about meeting a quota or ticking a diversity box. It’s about recognising the value that comes from different experiences, ideas and perspectives – elements that can only be truly harnessed when we have a more inclusive leadership structure. In an industry historically dominated by men, making space for women at the decision-making table isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s a strategic necessity.

An environment where women can thrive

The automotive industry is at a turning point. As we face shifting consumer expectations, rapid technological advancements and a need for greater sustainability, the old ways of thinking will no longer suffice. We need leaders who can innovate and adapt, and this requires us to tap into the full spectrum of talent available to us.

By joining the Automotive 30% Club, we are making a commitment to fostering an environment where women can thrive, where they feel empowered to take on leadership roles, and where their contributions are not just welcomed but sought after.

At Direct Affinity CX, we’ve seen the positive impact of gender diversity on our own team dynamics and performance. I want to help drive this change on a larger scale, contributing to an industry-wide shift that will lead to better business outcomes for everyone involved.

A more inclusive, innovative and successful automotive industry

My decision to join the Automotive 30% Club is a testament to the belief that diversity isn’t just about representation; it’s about creating a culture where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute, grow and lead. I am excited to see what we can achieve together, not just as a company but as part of a broader movement toward a more inclusive, innovative and successful automotive industry.
